Indigenous cultures have been coming together to share and find meaning in their dreams for the fulfilment of self and community throughout history and on every continent. It is a lost art form and we need to bring dreaming back to the people for the sake of our future on earth. In the dreamtime, we are able to hear languages that are not tied to words alone but speak to us in imagery, feelings, energy, symbols, metaphor, innate knowing and a sense of magic. It defies logic and understanding and yet there is a deeper knowing at play, an invisible intelligence that is animating your life.
Dreamers have learnt to come and go easily between inner and outer worlds. To work with dreams which takes courage, patience and curiosity and we are undertaking to bring back the gold from our unconscious into consciousness and this can have a transformative effect. It can expand our experience of ourselves and our lives.
Dreamwork sessions
My dreamwork is influenced and informed by Toka-pa Turner who I have worked with. It is a collaboration between ourselves to understand what your dream is trying to tell you. It is a space where the you, the dreamer, can feel held and safe enough to birth the wisdom from your dream into waking life. Together we explore your dreams imagery and symbology building bridges back to your waking life through your own associations to uncover the treasures your dream has to offer.
I am entirely led by you and you decide the pace, the flow and how deeply to dive. Every session is different, just as every dream is unique. I work with the understanding that the dreamer is the expert. No one understands the significance and nuance of a dream better than the dreamer. As a member of IASD I am guided by their code of ethics, “Systems of dreamwork that assign authority or knowledge of the dream’s meanings to someone other than the dreamer can be misleading, incorrect, and harmful. Ethical dreamwork helps the dreamer work with their own dream images, feelings, and associations, and guides the dreamer to more fully experience, appreciate, and understand the dream.”
It’s important to know that strong emotions often arise in the course of the dreamwork, and they are encouraged and welcomed in the safety of our container. Anything shared within the context of our session remains private and confidential.
This is not psychotherapy but a chance to explore your dreams or a significant dream in a held container. It may be that you wish to go on to psychotherapy from the medicine that your dreams has to offer and we will be able to discuss this. This can be a one off session for a significant dream or a series of sessions to find deeper meaning in your dreamspace. Please contact me to see how I may be able to help.
I am also currently creating a dream circle – please sign up to my infrequent newsletter to be informed first.
